pre appointment info

-MOISTURIZE!! Get out your lotion please!!! the entire week before the appointment. This will make me very happy and also make the tattoo application easier for both of us.

-Do not have more than two drinks the night before the appointment--alcohol is a blood thinner that will affect the tattooing process as well as how you are feeling during the session.

-Eat a FULL MEAL (real food, coffee doesn’t count) and hydrate before the appointment. Or bring a snack like a protein bar, especially if the session will be long.

-For the time being, clients are required to come alone to their appointments, unless an aid is needed for medical/accessibility assistance. Let me know prior if you will need to bring a friend.

-Please arrive on time, no earlier than 10 minutes.

I have a grace period of 20 minutes--if you are more than 20 minutes late to your appointment, I may have to cancel our appointment. Please let me know if you are running late!

︎aftercare:

with saniderm:

Leave the saniderm on for 1-3 days, then peel it off slowly in the shower. If it begins leaking, peel it off early.

Once removed, wash off the excess fluid (blood ink and plasma) with an unscented antibacterial soap. (I use drbronners)

Then begin moisturizing- moisturize once to twice a day with a gentle unscented lotion. I recommend cerave or cetaphil; if you opt for a greasier lotion like aquaphor, make sure you’re using only a THIN layer).

Do not let the tattoo soak in still water for 3 weeks (bath/pool/lake/etc. ew!)

Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight for extended periods of time for 3 weeks. After it is healed (3-4 weeks), always protect with a high spf sunscreen!

During the healing process, it’s going to get itchy but DON’T SCRATCH! Picking tattoo scabs will affect the way the tattoo heals; be gentle with it!

As the tattoo heals, it will fade. The way it fades/how much it fades is dependent on the ink, the body part it’s on, how you healed it, and how I tattooed it. With that being said touch ups are free, please email me to get a touchup :)

with saran wrap:

Leave the saran wrap on until you are settled in for the day. Then remove it and, with CLEAN HANDS, wash the tattoo off with gentle unscented soap. You can begin moisturizing with a thin layer of lotion twice daily.

For the first 3-4 days, wash the tattoo daily. Make sure you are wearing clean loose clothes and your sheets are clean. The only difference between using saran wrap and saniderm is that the tattoo will be exposed for the initial closing of the wound--avoid infection by making sure it stays clean!

Refer to directions above for instructions after the first 4 days.
